Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are canceling all church services, committee meetings, and events until state and federal recommendations advise otherwise. The church building will be closed to all but staff and authorized users.
Owing to the fact that there are not sufficient cleaning supplies available right now to keep the building safe, all recovery meetings will be suspended at First Parish Church until state and federal recommendations advise otherwise. We are sorry to have to let down those who rely on these meetings for their safety and sobriety. All are encouraged to reach out to one another during this trying and stressful time. You will be in our prayers. Possible online alternative here.
Starting Sunday, March 22, we will be co-producing virtual church services with our sister church, the First Church of Lancaster. The links to this online content will be made available here on this website, as well as sent directly to all the members by email weekly, and throughout our social media platforms. Religious Education links and materials for families will also be available on our Religious Education page. Check back frequently as these materials will be updated regularly to coincide with our virtual church services when possible.
All are encouraged to observe all recommended health safety protocols. Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds. Avoid all unnecessary social interactions and crowds. Limit interactions to only those of your immediate household. Go out only for supplies and when absolutely necessary. Going for a walk and getting some fresh air definitely counts as “absolutely necessary,” but maintain a social distance of a minimum of 6 feet when walking with others not of your household or from passers-by. If we all work together, we can flatten the curve of this epidemic to avoid overwhelming our healthcare system and save lives. The life you save may be someone you love.
We shall most definitely get through this. And our unity will be enhanced in the process. This unity is something our planet has needed so badly. It is sad to see that it had to be something as tragic as this to bring us together, but life is, after all, an unfolding mystery. And love is at the heart of all things.
God’s blessing be upon you all. Love, Wil
